Installing the CSM
Please note that this utility can only be installed and run from the server hosting the Channergy database files.
Once you have run the installer, it will create a shortcut on your desktop. In order for it to properly manage the services installed, you must run it As Administrator. The following instructions are to set up the application so that it always runs As Administrator.
- Right-click on the Channergy Service Manager icon on the desktop and select the Properties option………..
- Click on the Compatibility tab and click on the Run this program as administrator
- If you are running Windows 10 or Server 2012 you can also change the settings for all users by clicking on the Change settings for all users button.
Note: You can also set up Channergy to run as an administrator.
Using the Channergy Service Manager
The utility allows you to check for Channergy services that are running and selectively start and stop services as necessary.
By default the action check boxes next to the installed services are all checked, meaning that if you click on either the Start Services or the Stop Services buttons that all of the installed services will be either started or stopped depending on the button you click.
If you want to start or stop only one service, simply click on the check box next to the service and click on the action button (Start Services or Stop Services).
In the screen shot above, the check box next to the Client Server service was checked and the Stop Services button was clicked.
Note that if you do not have the appropriate license files for the service that you want to run, it will not start. In the example above, the MCM is not installed in a data folder that has valid license files for the version of the MCM installed.
If the MCM is selected to stop, the Service Manager will wait until it has completed processing whatever tasks it is running. It checks the ChannelLog table every 10 seconds for a complete message. If the MCM is running a long process it will not pause until then.
